Our soccer programs have impacted thousands of young people worldwide
UKSD programs not only have an impact on kids and teens on Cape Cod but also throughout the U.S. and the entire world. We use the game of soccer to educate each participant on social issues that affect their very own communities and others across the globe.
We use our programs to instill life skills in kids and teens, in an effort to create strong youth leaders who are able to make a positive impact to better the lives of others.
We also encourage our participants to become strong roles models within their peer groups and to create opportunities to continue their work throughout their adult lives.
KP4FP - Kidz Play 4 Free Project
One of the most profound issues today in relation to sports is the struggle for families to be able to afford opportunities to participate in sports. Due to this growing trend, we came up with the UKSD Kidz Play 4 Free Project.
Each year we offer numerous free of charge soccer leagues and clinics to all children, both locally and internationally, regardless of their race, socio-economic background, or abilities. We are able to provide a safe place for children to not just play soccer, but to truly bring the community together through the game.
Peer to Peer Involvement
Providing free of charge soccer opportunities to young people is not the only thing that the KP4FP offers. One of the main objectives of the program is to allow high school aged participants to become directly involved within their very own communities. They are able to help their younger peers better understand the importance of helping others, while also educating them about social issues, such as, homelessness, hunger, and substance abuse. Through peer to peer leadership, it is our goal to educate young people about different cultures and societies throughout the world in order to bridge the gap between communities, both locally and globally, regardless of religious beliefs, race, or socioeconomic backgrounds so that the next generation can help create a stronger future for all.
The UKSD Academy is a youth development program that revolves around 4 Core Values, Character, Community, Competition, and Continuity, and it has been designed to give soccer players a different type of option, while allowing them to play the game that they love. Our soccer training methods are focused on building well rounded individual soccer players- technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. It is our belief that by participating in the UKSD Academy, our players will develop life skills beyond just the game itself. It is our mission to enable our participants to become strong peer leaders, to develop an awareness of community mindedness, and to be active in creating change both here at home and in other areas of need.
We design our field sessions using cutting edge, modern techniques, focused around the use of alternative soccer training methods, such as (small sided grass soccer, street soccer, futsal and beach soccer). This is all done in a highly competitive training environment as a way for each individual player to enhance on what they can already achieve, while also helping them to elevate the side of their game that they can build upon.
Social Change Soccer Tours
One of the most exciting aspects of being involved in UKSD, is the opportunity to participate in a UKSD Social Change Through Soccer Tour.
High School aged volunteers are eligible to participate in a social change tour within the US, or globally, where we have a long lasting relationships with other like minded soccer organizations. These trips will allow high school aged students to travel to different areas of the world and work one on one with children in lower socioeconomic communities with UKSD coaches, as part of the Kidz Play 4 Free Project.
The Alumni in the Community
The Alumni in the Community program has been created for former high school UKSD members as they move into adulthood, to stay involved in a capacity that suits their lives, whether in college, or in the workforce.
The program is designed to help them stay connected to UKSD and allowing our alumni the opportunity to continue their own work, as well as be strong role models for current UKSD participants.
For our alumni who seek to implement their own UKSD programs within their new communities, we dedicate a portion of our efforts to help assist raise funds, so that our alumni can continue to grow and pass along the UKSD message of helping the community through soccer.
