Sustainability Project

As UKSD alumni move into adulthood, we have found that many wish to carry on the work that has had a major impact throughout their own lives. They are eager to help continue and pass along the UKSD methodology and philosophy to others. With this in mind, we created what could be viewed as our most vital initiative - The UKSD Sustainability Project.​

This project allows the most dedicated UKSD youth leaders to evolve into UKSD Ambassadors. These ambassadors use their experiences to continue their work as they leave high school and move into the next phase of their lives. They inspire their peers and communities along the way and create social awareness around issues that they are committed to making a difference in. Along with continuing to create social change, UKSD Ambassadors are able to also offer mentorship and guidance to current UKSD youth leaders and participants, allowing them to have constant strong role models who are always available to help navigate projects, activities, and life.

Through these ambassador roles, UKSD alumni are able to continue to create social change and inspire the next generation of UKSD participants. Alumni get to build workforce skills, leadership traits, and management qualities that will allow them to succeed throughout their adult lives. However, most importantly, having alumni at the helm, who truly understand the philosophy and who have seen first-hand how impactful UKSD has been within their own lives, will help guide UKSD for generations to come. ​
